I wanted to try myself at hand sewing a shirt like in the 18th century, because access to my university’s sewing room was limited. Instead of buying new fabric, I used old bed sheets that no one had used in years and made a billowy shirt for the summer. It fits both men and women, kids, grownups …
I posted these pictures on Instagram and told my followers to bring me their old sheets and I would return a finished shirt. It was a way of using up old but quality material that we all have lying around the house, and also to create something sensual and meaningful, which will last for years.
